Every year, the No Dog Left Behind Rescue Calendar Contest is made possible by generous local businesses that believe in giving back to their community. This year's contest wouldn't be the same without them, and I'm excited to introduce each of the incredible businesses that have donated prizes to help support the rescue's mission.

This spotlight is all about PJ Sourdough, a small Twin Cities cottage bakery that's bringing handcrafted sourdough, hands-on workshops, and a whole lot of heart to the community.

More Than Just a Loaf of Bread

PJ Sourdough isn't just about baking incredible bread. It's about sharing the experience.

Every loaf is handcrafted from start to finish. Nothing is touched by a machine. Every step is done entirely by hand, creating beautiful artisan sourdough that's made with patience, skill, and a whole lot of care.

Beyond baking, PJ Sourdough also offers in-home sourdough workshops throughout the Twin Cities. Designed for groups of 3-5 people, these hands-on classes are $100 per person and include everything you'll need. During the workshop, everyone makes their own dough ball and bagel while learning the fundamentals of sourdough baking. Best of all, each participant heads home with their own mother starter, making it easy to continue their sourdough journey long after the class is over. It's a fun, relaxed experience that's perfect for friends, family, or anyone who's always wanted to learn the art of sourdough.

One detail I especially loved learning is that $1 from every loaf sold is donated to Minnesota Boxer Rescue, proving that giving back is already woven into the heart of the business.

PJ Sourdough generously donated two handcrafted sourdough loaves for one of this year's weekly prize packages.

It's such a unique prize because it's something you simply can't grab off a grocery store shelf. Every loaf is handcrafted from start to finish, and you can tell just by looking at them that they're made with incredible care. Fresh sourdough is one of those little luxuries that somehow makes an ordinary day feel a little better.
