Week One Local Business Spotlight: Venn Brewing

Each year, the No Dog Left Behind Rescue Calendar Contest brings together dog lovers, local businesses, and our community to help raise funds for rescue dogs looking for their forever homes.
One of the best parts of organizing this fundraiser has been getting to connect with local businesses that care about giving back to the community. So many businesses immediately said "yes" when I asked if they'd like to donate a prize, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity. Their support helps make the contest even more exciting while raising critical funds for No Dog Left Behind Rescue.
Throughout the contest, I'll be introducing each of these wonderful businesses, and today, I'm excited to shine a spotlight on Venn Brewing.

More Than a Neighborhood Brewery
Located in the Nokomis neighborhood of Minneapolis, Venn Brewing is much more than a place to grab a craft beer. They've created a welcoming space where people can gather, relax, and enjoy good company. Their name, Venn, means "friend" in Norwegian, which perfectly reflects the atmosphere they've built. Whether you're stopping in for one of their thoughtfully crafted beers, a locally roasted coffee, or one of the many community events they host throughout the year, Venn is all about bringing people together.
One of my favorite things about Venn Brewing is that they welcome leashed dogs both inside the taproom and out on the patio. As someone whose life revolves around dogs, I always appreciate businesses that recognize our four-legged friends are part of the family. Whether you've just finished a walk, spent the day exploring Minneapolis, or simply want to enjoy an afternoon with your dog by your side, Venn makes that easy. They also regularly host food trucks, making it a fun destination to spend an evening with friends, family, and your pup.
My Experience at Venn Brewing
Before Venn Brewing ever donated to the Calendar Contest, I had the opportunity to photograph at a fall event there, and I left genuinely impressed.
From the moment I arrived, everyone on their team was welcoming, friendly, and eager to help. They continually checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly, asking if I needed anything or if moving tables would make the event easier. Those little moments might seem small, but they say so much about the people behind a business.
It's one thing to have a great venue. It's another to have a team that genuinely wants your event to succeed.
That experience made it easy to reach out when I was looking for businesses to partner with for this year's Calendar Contest, and I was so grateful when they enthusiastically agreed to be part of it.
